On the occasion of Europe Day, the young singers of ABF Voices of Italy – Camerino, together with Founder Andrea Bocelli, took part in the celebrations held in Piazza del Campidoglio as part of the “Luci d’Europa” event on May 8, 2026. Alongside them, many other young people from different backgrounds shared a day dedicated to European values, dialogue, and participation.
During the event, the children also had the opportunity to meet Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, in one of the most meaningful moments of the celebrations.
Gathering in such a symbolic place, at the heart of Europe Day, made the experience even more special. Music once again proved to be a space of precious opportunities, capable of teaching how what each of us carries within can become richer and stronger when it enters into dialogue with the stories, places, and cultures of others.
Coming together in such a significant setting was a particularly moving experience, one that further highlighted the work that the Andrea Bocelli Foundation has been carrying forward for many years. This commitment stems from the belief that music can open new opportunities and build bridges between people and communities, fostering encounters among different stories, experiences, and cultures.
It is no coincidence that this event took place in Piazza del Campidoglio, a site deeply connected to Europe’s civic memory. It was here, in 1957, that the Treaties of Rome were signed, marking a fundamental milestone on the path toward a united Europe.
